Reporter Tries Kate Middleton’s Daily Diet — And Calls One Dish “Royal Disgust”

One brave journalist put Princess Kate Middleton’s reported daily diet to the test — and while most meals were enjoyable, one stood out for all the wrong reasons.

Kate, the Princess of Wales, is known for cooking meals for her family and favoring a diet rich in fruits and vegetables — especially important as she continues to recover from her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Becky Pemberton from The Sun took on the challenge of eating like Kate for an entire day.

According to MailOnline, Kate starts her mornings with a vibrant green smoothie made of kale, spirulina (an algae), romaine lettuce, matcha, spinach, coriander, and blueberries.

Pemberton described the blended mixture as looking «remarkably like pond water.» While it didn’t taste as bad as it looked, she found it far from tasty. Adding a bit of agave syrup helped the flavor, but she still wasn’t a fan.

For lunch, she tried the Princess’s go-to watermelon salad — a mix of avocado, cucumber, watermelon, mint, vegan feta, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil. This dish was a hit. Pemberton described it as “so delicious” and easy to make, though a bit light for a full lunch.

To tide herself over, she snacked on two of Kate’s reported favorite snacks: olives and popcorn — simple but satisfying.

For dinner, Pemberton opted for chicken korma, inspired by reports that Kate often eats curry, pasta, or chicken. Since she and Prince William both tend to go light on spice, the dish was a safe and flavorful choice — and it ended up being another favorite.

But dessert stole the spotlight. Kate’s go-to sweet treat is sticky toffee pudding, a moist and spongy classic that chef Rody Warot once called her favorite. Pemberton agreed, saying dessert was the «highlight» of the day.

In the end, the journalist gave the royal meal plan a glowing review — minus the murky green smoothie.

“It was healthy, colorful, and delicious,” she wrote. “I felt good after eating it all — not bloated or sluggish. But I won’t be drinking that smoothie again anytime soon.”
